However, in Halo, the main issues players have is that XP is only rewarded by completing very specific daily and weekly challenges in the game, rather than accumulating simply by playing matches. Halo Infinite's Battle Pass rewards players with cosmetic items, a system popularized in games like Fortnite and Call of Duty. Junyszek adds that this is just the first set of changes, and the game will continue to evolve based on player feedback. The developers are also doubling the duration of double XP boosts from 30 minutes to an hour, after complaints that the boosts weren't very valuable, especially when playing Infinite's big team battle matches that can last upwards of 20 minutes. Players will now be able to gain XP based on match performance in order to unlock their Battle Pass tiers more quickly. But the largest requested feature is finally coming to fruition in this major update, match XP. New cosmetics and Battle Pass Tiers are expected in the update as well. The attackers have unlimited Active Camo while the defenders have threat sensors to help spot invisible enemies. This new mode pits a team of attackers and defenders against one another. Even though this new mode will essentially give us a constant supply of maps and modes to play, the main game is also receiving two brand-new multiplayer maps and a brand-new mode called Covert One-Flag. With the ability to place 7,000 objects (which trumps Halo 5’s 1,600) this new and improved Forge mode is built to deliver insane user content on a whole new level that we have yet to see. User-created maps and modes will be fully available at launch with a brand new Forge system that brings the biggest and best creator tools ever seen in a Halo game before. Forge mode will allow user-generated content to be easily accessed and available to the mainstream community. This is a major update for Halo Infinite and could very well breathe new life into the community for years to come.
